Walk down the hall of Central Park East 1 on a typical day- smell the aromas of children cooking, feel the buzz of students just back from the annual camping trip, hear children discussing math problems they are tackling, see enormous block structures rise up in the middle of a classroom. We work hard to ensure that children have these unique and varied opportunities available to them. You make this happen as friends and supporters of CPE1.

Now more than ever, we invite you– implore you – to make a difference in the lives of CPE1 children! You’ve heard about the slashing of public school budgets in NYC. We are determined not to let the cuts impede this incredible, high-quality public school education the children receive. However, many of the opportunities CPE1 provides are funded solely by the generosity of our families, friends and supporters- including you. You are the reason we continue the many wonderful components of CPE1. With supporters like you, these wonderful programs will continue for CPE1’s children!

You make a big difference to the children of CPE1. Your contribution supports the internationally recognized and replicated model of education. This year, our public school budget was cut tremendously. Your contribution funds many day-to-day expenses not covered by the reduced school budget and helps ensure that none of the valuable aspects of the school are cut. You will help keep these unique CPE1 programs alive:

• Music, visual arts, storytelling, and movement programs
• Visiting musicians and artists
• Metropolitan Opera and Atlantic Theater performances
• Science programs, including gardening and growing food, live animals, electronics
• Camping, hiking, and farm trips
• Field trips to musical events, bridge walks, and museums
• Keeping current technology up-to-date
• Teacher Professional development opportunities
• The beloved, weekly ice skating program in Central Park
• Daily cooking in every classroom

100% of your donation goes directly to the school and classrooms, making it possible for teachers to carry out their initiatives. All donations are tax-deductible. CPE1 Parents Group, Inc. is eligible for corporate matching grants.
