CPE 1 helps the children of Haiti by participating in a fundraising

Dear Families:

We are sending you these calendars in the hope that you will join us in our latest fund raising effort to help the people of Haiti. This time we ask that you help your children help Haiti’s children by selling CPE1 calendars to family members, friends, and co-workers. Because the calendars contain children's artwork, we believe that they express the creativity and uniqueness of children everywhere and thus are especially appropriate for this undertaking.

We suggest a minimum donation of $5 for each calendar. All the money raised will go to the International Alliance for the Advancement of Children (IAAC), a Brooklyn-based organization that has been working in Haiti since 2003.

If you would like to know more about IAAC, you can go to their website

If you would like to know more about the earthquake's effects upon Haitian children, we have enclosed an article that appeared in the January 27th edition of the New York Times

Because the children of Haiti so desperately need food, shelter, and medical attention, we are setting a time-limit for this fundraising effort and ask that you return any funds you've collected (along with any leftover calendars) back to your child's classroom within three weeks of receiving the calendars.

The contact person for this is Wendy Harris (mother of Sarah Campbell, Jose's class). You can email her at gullyroad@aol.com

Attached to this post is a flyer that you can place in your lobby, laundry room, workplace, etc. Please take a look.

Thanks for your help.
