Except for early childhood, all classrooms have computers. Classroom computers are used for word processing, use of the digital camera, production of written reports, survey results, illustrated stories, etc. Several staff members are proficient in the use of computer programs and recommend software students find challenging. They also offer support to less expert colleagues so that overall proficiency has improved. Many of our students in grades 3-5 make full use of writing programs and are able to edit and revise independently. Extensive use is made of digital cameras by children across the grades to document work activities, special events and create illustrations for reports and stories. We do not encourage the use of computers with very young children except under special circumstances.
